There were a few bits and pieces that didn’t fit the theme of the last post. Mainly random internet finds1. All these are VideoSongs – when I stumbled upon these, it felt like discovering an entire new world – the idea is that “what you see is what you hear (no lip-syncing for instruments or voice) and “if you hear it, at some point you see it (no hidden sounds)”.
I discovered Pomplamoose Music first, and while I never really liked Michael Jackson’s music I really love this cover version of Beat It. Pomplamoose Music are multi instrumentalists Jack Conte and Nataly Dawn, who (see second video) collaborate as a pop/jazz band when not doing covers.
Jack Conte and Nataly Dawn also produce music solo. Jack Conte (who, I guess, invented the VideoSong idea) is in the Radio Electro/Accoustic corner; Nataly Dawn more of a traditional singer/songwriter.
And then there’s Lauren O’Connell …
